What We Do
Vest Pocket‘s mission is to build stronger independent business community in Utah through advocacy, education, and social connections.
Vest Pocket’s Advocacy Committee works to serve our members by actively participating in policy-making and legislation at all levels of government. Vest Pocket also alerts our member businesses about emerging issues and policies being considered at the local, state, and federal level that will impact their businesses.
The committee engages in proactive advocacy by helping Vest Pocket members build positive relationships with other local businesses, government, and community leaders.
Vest Pocket’s Education Committee works to bring valuable insights and advice to our members. From news on business trends, to Best Business Practices training, to business mentoring, the Education Committee is dedicated to empowering Vest Pocket members to grow their businesses.
With the helpful feedback from Vest Pocket members, our Education Committee identifies the topics of most interest and sources the best available speakers/instructors for our education events. The Vest Pocket Education Committee also frequently collaborates with the University of Utah, Salt Lake Community College, Westminster College, and the Miller Small Business Development Center to provide support, education, and resources to Vest Pocket members.
