Briant Stringham Jr., Bart Stringham, BJ Stringham, and Brandon Stringham
Utah Woolen Mills was originally begun by the Lloyd family in 1905. In the early 1920's, Briant Stringham and his father Henry, began to buy into the company. Henry Stringham was the son of an original Utah Pioneer who entered the valley on July 24th of 1847. Briant Jr. bought out the rest of the family in the late 1970's and is currently the majority owner.
Now in our fifth generation, Utah Woolen Mills Clothiers is continuing the family tradition. Briant Jr. is now the chairman of the board and his son, Bart, is the President of the Company. Bart is the face of Utah Woolen Mills whether it be on a commercial or in the newspapers. Briant has worked in the business since he was 11 years old and now carries 65 years of clothing experience. Bart, on the other hand, is a relative rookie having worked the business for only 35 years. Bart began working at Utah Woolen Mills when he was only 8 years old. He would come with his father when the janitor was off and help clean the shop for the next business day.
Bart has found quite a unique niche in the market. He decided years ago that Utah Woolen Mills should offer the best money can buy at a reasonable price. He began to invest in the best clothing lines and settled only for the best values in clothing. Now he has created a unique shopping experience where you will be remembered and cherished as a customer and friend. No place in the world can you find better clothing than right here in Salt Lake City.
Bart has also taught his sons how the business should be ran. BJ and Brandon have dedicated their careers to ensuring the tradition of quality continues in Salt Lake. Both majored in Business Administration at the University of Utah. Both sons join Bart in all the buying and selling of everything in the men's department.
Our most cherished part of the family are those who have made our family part of theirs. Utah Woolen Mills is very fortunate that Laura and Mary Ann have also dedicated their time and talents to make our women's department the finest in the state. We also are proud of our tailor who is a key to our success.
Since its birth in 1905, Utah Woolen Mills has been constantly dedicated to the quality of every product that leaves its doors. When we buy our clothing from our various manufacturers, we buy only the finest each of our vendors has to offer.
When walking through our doors and perusing our selection of fine men's and women's clothing, you will only have to worry about which ones you want, not which ones will hold up.
Quality as a first consideration is a great rule in general. It seems that society has taken all the short cuts, looking to find the best product at the cheapest price. Many people think they are saving money just because they spend less. But, in the long run, there is no avoiding that you get what you pay for. If you spend hundreds less on a suit and end up having to get another one to replace it the following year, then the hundreds you saved cost you hundreds more.
